The Role of Optimism in Getting a Face Lift Without Surgery

After a certain age we look in the mirror and most of the time we don’t like what we see: wrinkles, dark circles under the eyes, sagging skin on the jowls and the neck, an unhealthy face color… We blame our age, our fate, our health, our overworked system, the society, the polluted air, the husband, the boss or the neighbors. We blame everything and everybody, except for the true responsible: ourselves.

Wrinkles are not just a result of old age. Unfortunately, most if the time the aspect of our skin is determined first of all by our state of mind. As Buddha said, ‘we are shaped by our thoughts’. The wisdom of this phrase transcends the simple matters which involve the youth of our skin. It is valid as far as our entire life is concerned.

When we think about getting a face lift without surgery, we imagine many things: face masks, laser technologies, sophisticated peeling procedures and so on. All these methods really work, having great results without the risks and the unpleasant side-effects of plastic surgery. But nothing will really help you on the long run if your attitude is not correct.

Our state of mind and our attitude towards life is always reflected on our face: when we are sad or stressed, we scowl and squint all the time. The result? Deep wrinkles on your forehead, in the corners of your mouth and around the eyes. Besides this obvious effect of negative thoughts, there are other, deeper consequences that most of the people aren’t even aware of.

Did you notice that when you’re stressed the probability of having a headache or a stomachache increases? Did you ever wonder why? Even if our thoughts aren’t material, they have the supreme power in our body: they can change everything, starting from the smallest cells and their functions and reaching our organs, our bones and our skin.

One of the first effects of a pessimist attitude is the weakened immunity. As a consequence, we are more vulnerable to viruses and dangerous bacteria, not to mention all the dysfunctions of our internal organs, which eventually lead to chronic cardiac or gastrointestinal diseases. Do you think that all these problems are not reflected by the appearance of your skin? Better think again!

Everything is connected inside our body. And all destructive processes start in our mind (and our soul as well). Ok, you might say – so what can we do to improve the quality of our life?

Fortunately, there are many ways of learning to think positive, control your emotions, be calmer and full of optimism. If you want to get a face lift, start by implementing one or several of these techniques.

The first one I would recommend is meditation. Its physical and psychological benefits are enormous, especially when you practice it regularly. The same can be said about yoga. Besides healing and calming your mind, yoga is also directly transforming your body, making it stronger, firmer and more flexible.

Martial arts can also help you achieve a good balance between your mind and your body. This form of training is especially useful for those people who are afraid to ‘escape from the box’, to express themselves, to make a decision, to be truly in charge of their lives.

When working on your state of mind, don’t forget about your nutrition! A healthy diet is another crucial factor that immediately reflects on your skin and your overall well-being!

Don’t go to plastic surgery when there are so many wonderful opportunities around waiting to be explored. Even when you opt for the natural alternative of getting a face lift without surgery, remember that first comes the correct attitude, then the procedure itself! An optimistic approach will allow you not only to look younger, but also to be able to enjoy your new youth, to live every moment to its full potential!
