Brow Lift Without Surgery – Easy Ways of Improving Your Facial Expression
The shape of our eyebrows has a major influence on the beauty of our face. By slightly raising or lifting the brows, we can radically change our facial expression. Unfortunately, with age our brows start sagging, making our eyes and our entire face look old and tired. In such circumstances, a brow lift could radically improve the way we look.
Surgical brow lifts (including the modern endoscopic procedure) can have very good results. But, as you well know, surgery is expensive, invasive and troublesome. Before going for the surgeon’s scalpel, let’s see if we can get a brow lift without surgery first.
The first and most important option is correcting the shape of your eyebrows by waxing or plucking the excess hairs. The correction should be done as early as possible – even if you’re only 20, an ugly eyebrow shape can make you look much older than you really are.
All people (men and women) are born with a specific brow shape. While for men this detail is not so important, women have to learn from adolescence how to tweeze their eyebrows correctly. Some women are luckier than others – they are born with nice looking slim eyebrows that are beautifully arched. Others, unfortunately, have thick and flat eyebrows, positioned low on the forehead. Yes, nature is not always fair. But we can always correct some details of our appearance if we have enough imagination!
If you think about plucking your eyebrows for the first time, I suggest trying a professional brow waxing. The stylist will determine the most advantageous brow shape for you and after that you’ll be able to maintain it by using your tweezers. After a brow correction, you’ll look much younger and your eyes will look bright and fresh! So don’t go for the ‘natural hairy look’ and don’t overpluck either! If your brows are too thin, you’ll look unnatural and ridiculous, so try to find the golden middle.
Penciling and tattooing are good options as well, especially if your brows are thin and short and the hairs are very light, almost invisible. In such a case, there are no extra hairs to pluck and you have to correct the shape by filling in the needed areas. However, beware of dark colors – they will make you look like a cartoon villain! Use a pencil in a color that is a little lighter than the natural color of your eyebrows. However, if your brows are too light, you can use a light brown pencil to liven them up a little. In this case, you have to color the entire brow, not just the area that needs ‘additions’. Tattooing has the same results – if done properly by a skilled stylist, it will save you lots of time!
If tweezing or penciling can be done at any age (the sooner, the better), then other methods of getting a brow lift without surgery are meant to eliminate the sagging due to aging.
Applying an anti aging eye cream can improve the look of your brows as well. Apply the cream not only on the eyelids, but also below and above the eyebrows. If you’re using a quality product, it should help you get rid of small wrinkles and tighten the sagging skin.
It’s also possible to lift your eyebrows with dermal fillers. Botox remains the most popular one – it is usually injected in the outer portion of the brow to relax the muscles that pull it down. The effects of a Botox treatment last for several months.
One more important advice: if you want to get a non-surgical face lift (including a brow lift) – get enough rest! We live in the century of sleep deprived people – we get up early to go to work and we stay awake until late to finish a project, clean the house or perform another necessary task. Remember that you’ll never be able to do all the work you have to do! That’s why you have to allow yourself to have at least 7 hours of sleep each night – this way you’ll both look and feel good!
